After the Fire
No one wants to see their lives or property affected by the destructive effects of fire. However, fires do happen and, unfortuately, they will continue to happen. Fire safety programs do help reduce the risk of a fire, but accidents will continue to happen despite our best efforts. Should you ever experience a loss of property or life due to fire you will no doubt experience much pain and confusion. Due to the stress of the situation, many folks have no idea what needs to be done to begin picking up the pieces of their lives after a fire. Who to contact? What can I salvage? Where do I turn for help? Preparing for this in advance can be of great help. The Federal Emergency Mangement Agency (FEMA) and the United States Fire Administration (USFA) have a publication that can assist you. This document can help steer you to the help you need to begin returning your life back to normal. You can view this publication online or you can download it to your computer to print out as a reference. To access the available information just click on the links within the box below.
