CARRBORO, N.C. – Roberson Street is the next street slated for repaving as part of Carrboro’s Street Resurfacing Project that is underway with improvements aimed at accessibility and infrastructure.
The paving work will begin on Wednesday, Sept. 3.
Recent work includes the construction of a new sidewalk along the south side of Roberson, connecting the Drakeford Library complex sidewalk to the sidewalk at Sweet Bay Place. The sidewalk work was completed this week.
During the Project

Carrboro’s 2025 Street Resurfacing Project includes improvements to 27,574 square yards of roadways. Work includes pavement milling, resurfacing, installation of a new sidewalk on Roberson Street and related construction activity such as curb ramp improvements, manhole adjustments and pavement markings.
The project will begin with improvements aimed at accessibility and infrastructure. The initial phase focuses on upgrading sidewalk ramps to meet ADA compliance standards and repairing existing curb and gutter systems. The final phase will center on street resurfacing.
